We offer a range of evidence-based therapies and treatments. Our clinical team is trained to work with people across the life span, from early childhood to later life. We are also trained to offer therapy to neurodivergent individuals.
The therapies we offer are recognised, evidence-based approaches. Like the NHS, we follow NICE guidelines to decide treatment, which are the government-recommended pathways for intervention.
Some of the common therapies we offer include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Therapies, and Family Therapy. We are also trained in psychodynamic and creative therapies. As highly experienced clinicians, we are able to use integrative approaches, using strategies and skills from multiple interventions to best meet your needs.

Managing life changing events
In individual therapy, just one person meets with a single therapist. The focus of this therapy is help the individual understand themselves, thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and personal challenges. This often includes a type of talking therapy (e.g., CBT, ACT), to help make meaningful change in line with your goals. Individual therapy can be helpful for personal mental health difficulties, with less focus explicitly on how these difficulties are experienced in the context of your relationships.
Family therapy is a recognised specialist talking therapy which reduces distress through an interest in your past and present social circumstances. This is also known as Systemic Psychotherapy. It holds a focus on relationships, experiences, and your social positions (age, gender, class, culture, geography, race, religion, employment, sexual identity). It often includes other family members or significant others - so that you can work together in therapy to understand and communicate with each other in helpful ways, to gain shared understanding, and to change unhelpful patterns which no longer work or support you. This might be couple therapy or with a wider network of people, such as your children or other significant people in your life. The approach will seek to develop more of what works for you, identifying strengths and strategies, so that you can feel understood and to understand why a behaviour may make sense.
Sometimes, we may recommend a combination of family and individual interventions.
If you are unsure whether you would benefit from family or individual intervention, we are happy to advise you on this during your assessment.
This is a good question - but it can be difficult to answer at first. Session numbers can depend on individual hopes and personal circumstances. You are not limited to a certain number of sessions. We will always make these decisions together with you and review individual needs as part of your care. Assessment and formulation will play a part in this, which you can read more about here.
We offer therapy online, so it can be accessed nationwide or beyond.
We do provide face-to-face appointments in Norfolk upon request, subject to an additional charge from room hire (if applicable) and travel costs.
If you are being seen for couple or family therapy, we may recommend face-to-face work, as it can be hard to navigate a group session online.
We aim to be flexible to your needs. Sometimes the thought of sitting face-to-face in a traditional therapy space can feel overwhelming, whether that is in person or online. If you prefer to be in nature, we can offer therapy sessions outdoors. Together, we can take our conversations on a walk, using the movement and fresh air to help you feel more comfortable and open. This approach can be especially helpful for those who find it easier to process their thoughts and feelings while in a more natural setting. Our therapists are based around Norwich and in the Norfolk country side, close to the Norfolk Broads. We have a particular love for the outdoors and we have a vision to grow this area of practice further in the future.
